Microtransactions already turning out to be true.
I predicted in my last post that micropayments would be used to make games with less content. Microsoft proved my point with Pinata……..in thier press conference they made it to point out that you could buy additional things for your pinata to enjoy through micropayments, but they did not address how much content will be provided in the game…..wouldn’t this have been an appropriate time to say, “This game has 5000 items to customize your world.” Don’t these games cost $60? So you spend $60 for a game who’s main feature is to spend more money on content? WTF!
Anyway in my upcoming posts I will be giving you my opinion on the past, present and future of current and upcoming gaming platforms. I’ll be telling you why the xbox 360 is doomed for failure, why ps3 prices will cause sony to take second place at least for a couple of years and may spell the doom of Microsoft windows, and why the wii will put nintendo on top for at least a while. I’ll also address why the computer will become the platform to use for the serious gamer.
